At Kalyanam Karoti,a significant name for charity
in India, we have devoted ourselves to the cause
of eradicating blindness and to provide medical
relief for people incapacitated by physical handicap.
Despite the small monetary resource and little
technological benefits, we have not once looked
back. Today, we can proudly reflect on our achievements.
It gives us new zeal and inspiration to further
our cause, so that we can contribute substantially
to our area of concern. We work on the following
infrastructure:
We have hospital facilities and we also organize
camps to provide relief to the ailing. Our services
are based on charity.
Eye ward:
The main concern of this social service organization
of India is removal of blindness. Blindness is
a disease that grips the poor much more than it
does to the financially strong. Lack of nutrition,
long hours of work, old age and neglect are few
of the causes of blindness among the poor in India.
The eye wards set up by us is to provide treatment
to these people for free, so that they benefit
from us.
Presently, we have two wards, which have a capacity
of thirty beds.
Operation Theatre:
We have an operation theatre, equipped with two
microscopes, to facilitate two operations simultaneously.
OPD:
There is a regular OPD facility, with two eye
specialists attending nearly hundred patients
a day.
Faco machine:
We have also acquired the FACO machine which enables us to conduct stitchless cataract operations. This device has been of great help as it has increased dramatically the success rate of these operations.
Workshop for the Handicapped:
A lot special attention is required for the differently
abled people who do not have the financial ability
to pay for their treatment. A treatment in right
time can save them from a lifetime's disability.
We, at Kalyanam Karoti, acknowledge that, which
is why we have set up workshops for them.
At present, there is a workshop, where repair
and adjustment of calipers and fabrication of
artificial limbs is undertaken.
We request your donations to our cause of 'Eradication
of Blindness' programmes as well as helping the
differently abled. Your donations WILL definitely
make a difference. All donations are exempted
of tax under the Income Tax Act, Sections 80G.
So, come forward and contribute for a cause to
cure millions of people who need your help. Make
