Kalyanam Karoti, India- A Charitable Organization with a Vision

For the last two and a half decades, Kalayanam Karoti, the charitable organization has strived for the relief of millions of underprivileged beings. Our efforts have definitely born fruit. However, there is no stopping for us. We aspire to extend aid to all corners, defying geographical borders and practice compassion, as His Holiness The Dalai Lama preaches us to do.

Kalyanam Karoti has been devoted to the care of those in need and the disabled, and our philosophy has been selfless service and compassion. Formed on October 2, 1981, we have been doggedly working towards our goal for more than the last two decades. The first branch of this charitable organization in India was set up in Lucknow. Soon after, two more branches were set up in Meerut and Mathura.

Kalyanam Karoti, Meerut

The Meerut branch of Kalyanam Karoti was formed in the year 1994, in the month of June. In 1995, an eye hospital was set up within the premises of the Cantonment General Hospital. The Meerut branch was officially inaugurated in 1995 by His Holiness The Dalai Lama.

The Kalyanam Karoti of Meerut is committed to the complete aid of those suffering from blindness and physical handicap. We aim at a yet higher goal of 'bringing light to the dark lives of the handicapped and the aged.' Despite the limited resources, as far as finance and facilities are concerned, we have moved on determinedly over the years. As all noble causes give results, so have ours.

Ours is an organization with a cutting edge. The Blindness Eradication Programmes and Camps for the Aid of the Handicapped are popular not only in the urban but also interior rural areas of Western Uttar Pradesh. People visit our centre camps in large numbers every day. Camps are also held in remote areas where accessibility to treatment and other amenities is almost non existant. We also accept requests for setting up these camps from people and other organizations. We have held camps extensively in Meerut, Baghpat, Bulandshahar, Muradabad, Muzaffarnagar and Saharanpur Districts.

Since our inception a decade back, Kalyan Karoti, Meerut has not looked back. We acknowledge the fact that millions in this country need help and support, that millions are in dire need of assistance and aid. Through our centres and camps, we hope to contribute what we can to alleviate the cause of blindness among the financially incapable and the disabled. Philanthropy is our motto.

"Our aim is better understood by the following quote, by the famous idealist of the late 17th century, William Penn:
I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again."

We request your donations to our cause of 'Eradication of Blindness' programmes as well as helping the differently abled. Your donations WILL definitely make a difference. All donations are exempted of tax under the Income Tax Act, Sections 80G. So, come forward and contribute for a cause to cure millions of people who need your help. Make Donations
